Cast, Don’t Keep

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. –1 Peter 5:7 NIV

No matter how much we love the Lord, pray, and study our Bibles, we will all have struggles in this life. We still have to deal with unkind people, pay bills, and face trials raising children. We still have to deal with overbearing bosses and all the normal problems of life. We are not exempt from troubles. If we’re aware of that and face them head-on with faith, we always come out the other side stronger and better equipped for the next battle. Because it will come!Admitting that we’re going through a struggle is not a sign of weakness, it’s being real. However, staying in that struggle, giving up, and focusing on the trial instead of the solution is not healthy. We may not see the solution at the moment, but the Father does. He is Jehovah-Jireh—the God who sees and the God who looks ahead and makes provision for us.Let us cast our cares and fears upon Him and release them to His care, for He loves and cares for us. We can speak His Word over our problems and choose to refuse to let worry take root and grow.

prayer focuses

When fear grips my heart, help me remember that You love me and care about my situation.

God, help me be real and not sugarcoat my problems. Help me proclaim that Your Word is bigger than my problems.
