…I’ll be a Father to you; you’ll be sons and daughter to me…. –2 Corinthians 6:18 MSG
Does God seem distant from you at times? Often we pray as if God is far away, when He is actually right with us in all situations. In John 14:17 (NIV), Jesus says that the Holy Spirit “lives with you and will be in you,” and in verse 20, Jesus explains, “I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.” If you are a born-again Christian, please realize how close God is to you. He lives within you. If God seems distant, it’s not because He moved; it’s because you moved. You will never know what wonderful surprises God has in store for you—without a relationship with Him. In your relationship with God, enjoy His presence. He is your Father, and you are His child. According to Whitney Hopler, a writer for Crosswalk.com, the more you connect with God relationally, the better you get to know Him. This will motivate you to keep pursuing a stronger relationship with God.
Know that relationally you are the apple of God’s eye (see Psalm 17:8).
Romans 8:16 (NASB) says, “The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God.”
