Day 251: Divine Appointments

…And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this? –Esther 4:14 NIV

The last census (completed in 2017) showed that 900 people a day move to Florida. When we moved here a year and a half ago, it was a huge transition. I retired, left my two children, five grandchildren, and forty years of friends. Suddenly going anywhere was an adventure because I had no idea where anything was.We began attending Bayside Community Church immediately. I had listened to every sermon that was online while living in Missouri. I was so lonely, so I looked for a small group hoping to find some friends. One in particular stuck out to me out of the hundreds available. The very first day, I discovered that the leaders were both authors. I have written my entire life; and as chaplain at the USPS, I had written articles for years. One of the leaders said to me, “I’m supposed to help you.”Long story short, Barbara Alpert helped me get my book published. I had no idea where to even start. God placed her in my life; He wanted my book published. Barbara was my divine appointment, and you see her writings every month. You too could be someone’s divine appointment. Who’s waiting for your touch of grace?

prayer focuses

No meeting is by chance with Christ.

Ask the Father to put people in your path you can help. Life isn’t all about us. He gives us talents to use to help others; use them wisely.
