Day 356: Don't Worry

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. -Isaiah 41:10 NIV

Many things happen in today’s world that we don’t understand—from school shootings to attacks on innocent people at concerts. The news is a constant unraveling of evil. Many hurts and pains from our past also try to haunt us. The future seems uncertain, daunting, and at times downright terrifying. Scripture tells us that in the last days, people’s hearts will fail them for fear. We live in a broken world; it rocks and reels on its axis under the strain of a creation longing to be redeemed. But…we don’t have to be controlled by those hurts, fears, pains, or uncertainties.

Today is our focus. We can’t undo the past and can’t predict the future, but we can live today to its fullest. You are alive, you are blessed, and you are carved in the palm of your Father’s hand. Because He is for us, who can be against us? The world may be broken, but the Master Craftsman can keep us in perfect peace. Today is your day—live it like you mean it. The best is yet to come, so don’t surrender your joy.
