Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” –John 4:13-14 NIV
With our country still social distancing and figuring out the new normal, we may have more time to reflect and ask, “What has been filling my time rather than my Lord?” The answer could be: sports, bars, churches, beaches, restaurants, music gigs, etc. With life looking a little different, it may be beneficial to take an honest look at ourselves and find areas for growth.May the following hymn, “Fill My Cup, Lord,” by Reverend Blanchard speak to your heart:Like the woman at the well, I was seekingFor things that could not satisfy. And then I heard my Savior speaking—“Draw from My well that never shall run dry.”Fill my cup, Lord;I lift it up Lord;Come and quench this thirsting of my soul.Bread of Heaven, feed me till I want no more.Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole. There are millions in this world who are seekingFor pleasures earthly goods afford. But none can match the wondrous treasureThat I find in Jesus Christ my Lord.So my brother if the things that this world gives youLeave hungers that won’t pass away,My blessed Lord will come and save youIf you kneel to Him and humbly pray—
Praise God for His mercy, grace, and love.
Thank Him for His discipling hand in your life that causes you to want to change. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal what you have been running to, rather than letting Christ fill you.
