…my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. –Psalm 84:2 NIV
How much do we yearn for the fullness of God? To yearn is to have a tender, urgent desire. To have urgency is to have a call for immediate attention. When our hearts have the fullness of God, there is no room for resentment, rebellion, bitterness, or anything negative. When God occupies our hearts, we are filled with love, compassion, tenderness, mercy, and grace. The psalmist says, “My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord” (Psalm 84:2). That is some desire! How can we fill ourselves with the Lord? Simply by our daily quality time with our King! Every time we have our devotional time with Jesus and fill our hearts with His Word, we receive the fullness of God. After all, in John 1:1 it says that the Word is God and that the Word became flesh—Jesus. In the beginning, God spoke creation into existence (Genesis 1:1-31).God the Father spoke; Jesus (the Word) put creation into motion, and the Holy Spirit hovered over the waters waiting to take action and perfect what was being created. Therefore, Church, let us fill ourselves with the powerful and beautiful Word of God—Jesus—and in so doing we will see the miraculous happen in our lives. Amen.
Jesus, let me not neglect my time with You; let it be a priority in my daily walk with You.
My sweet Holy Spirit, stir within me the desire to consecrate my life to the fullest and to seek You throughout my day.
