Finding Yourself

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. –Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

Have you ever looked in a mirror and wondered who the stranger was staring back at you? We often hear of people going off on a journey or a quest to “find themselves.” The truth is, you need never be lost. The One who lovingly created you, and even knew you before your time, is eagerly waiting to guide you down His path for you—the one that leads to your true self—exactly as He designed. It is a narrow path that is uniquely yours, requiring constant communion with the Author and Finisher of your faith. It seems contrary to reason that you must lose yourself to find yourself, and even more baffling that the only way to be completely alive is to die to self, and live totally devoted to Christ Jesus. As you seek to know Him, you will find yourself increasingly aware of the unique gifts, talents, and characteristics that make you one of a kind—wonderfully made to carry out His will and purpose for your life. Make your journey your quest to find Jesus, to become intimate with His character and wise in His Word.

Thank God for creating you so uniquely and ask Him to help you grow in it!
