Flameproof

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. –Isaiah 43:2 NIV

There’s a pine tree called the Jack Pine; the seeds for new trees are in its cones. The cones are tightly wound, and they have a very thick layer of sap that covers them. The sap seals them so well that the seeds can’t get out. There’s only one way that the seeds can emerge—through fire. Only heat can melt the sap and release the seeds that fall to the ground and eventually grow into trees. After a devastating forest fire, things look dead; but eventually new growth appears. The very thing that was thought to be destructive was actually the path to new life for the Jack Pine.We also go through fiery trials in life; things come that overwhelm us and leave us feeling lifeless. However, it’s often those fiery trials that bring about the new growth and maturity we need to live a victorious life. God’s promise to us in Isaiah 43:2 says, “When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned.” We will pass through fires in this life, but we will not be destroyed. We will grow and flourish, and our faith will increase. New life is coming, so don’t worry about anything. His promises are true.

prayer focuses

Pray that when fiery trials come, you will allow God’s Word to wash over you and quench your worries.

Trust God. Fiery trials will come, so don’t be surprised. Instead, praise God for His provision and protection.
