Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear. –Isaiah 65:24 ESV
We know God promises in His Word that He hears our prayers. We also have our expectations about how our prayers should be answered. Prayer isn’t about our will. It is about trusting in the fulfillment of God’s will. Every day there are worries that we need to bring before the Lord. It could be an illness, sick family member, loneliness, or unsure of what direction to go with school or a job. Living in this world brings circumstances and worries to pray about. We can trust God will answer, but according to His will, not ours. The answer could be yes or no or not now, but we have to trust. We don’t see the whole picture—He does. There are times we just don’t understand the waiting. We may not even see the answer to our prayer while we are here on earth. The power of prayer can be an unknown. We either embrace it by faith or not. God is never silent—He is always working. God’s timetable requires faith and courage. We may never understand why God allows certain struggles and heartache until we enter eternity, but until that time, God is always with us.
Lord, help me to trust You, even when I don’t understand.
Thank You that You hold me in Your loving hands through the difficult times.
