But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” –1 Samuel 16:7 NKJV
Are you feeling ashamed because of what someone did to you or names you were called to minimize who you are? Are you ashamed of labels that stuck with you over the years, abuse you endured, lies someone has spread about you, something said that hurt you deeply from your childhood, or something that was said yesterday? You are a child of God. Proclaim John 1:12 (NKJV), “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” You are redeemed and saved by grace. You have to step up and step out in faith. Jesus says in Romans 11:11-31 that you are grafted in. You must see yourself through the eyes of Jesus. You have been given gifts to enable you to serve in the Kingdom. Don’t let labels keep you in bondage and keep you stuck. Let His labels stick to you and set you free. Don’t stay on the mat like the man did in John 5:5-8 (NKJV). Jesus said, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” Don’t be defined by the enemy’s lies. Rebuke him and he will flee from you (James 4:7).
You are a child in God’s Kingdom.
Don’t let the enemy minimize you. Believe who and whose you are as it says in God’s Word. Listen to that still small voice assuring you that someday you will be with Jesus and will rejoice in His greatness.
