Day 264: Getting Dressed in the Morning

He put on righteousness as his breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on his head…and wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak. –Isaiah 59:17 NIV

The phrase “armor of God” is derived from Ephesians 6:11 (NKJV): “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” The armor that is available for believers to put on is God’s own armor, as in today’s verse (Isaiah 59:17), for He is the Divine Warrior. We must prepare ourselves for the day by putting on God’s protective gear! Just knowing that our God is in control at all times is a relief. Our daily prayers and devotions are vital to show our gratefulness to our Lord and Savior. With the Holy Spirit by our side, we can withstand Satan’s attacks by depending on God’s strength and armor to protect us. Remember, as we ready ourselves in the morning we must always equip ourselves with God’s Word.
