Happy Mother's Day!

Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck. –Proverbs 1:8-9 NIV

Do you remember when you were a child and your parents didn’t know anything and you knew everything? Later you found out that they knew a lot more than what you thought. As an adult, it’s easy to forget about your parents as you become a parent yourself or life brings busyness.Ephesians 6:2 says to honor your father and mother. There are no conditions. It doesn’t matter if they’re good or bad parents. The verse simply says to honor.Today is Mother’s Day. Rather than sending a polite note to your mother, take time to reflect on how she shaped your life for the better. When you talk to her, be specific. Thank her for what she’s done all of these years. Commit to praying for her, and ask God to bless her immeasurably more. And if she made such profound mistakes that it’s hard to love her, remember that God entrusted her to bring you into the world and you’re His beloved child. If He would bestow such an honor on her, she’s worth your honor as well.

Bayside Community Church

At the beginning of each year, as a church, we set aside time for prayer and fasting. We believe God deserves our full attention and our best. So, before we fill our calendars for the year, we want to listen.  We say with Samuel, “Speak Lord, for your servant is listening”. (1 Sam 3:9)

These daily readings are collection of thoughts and scripture to use as prompts to invite you to dig deeper - to listen and lean in. Use the scriptures as a springboard to explore further. Consider praying through the scriptures given and let the Word of God speak.

We are praying that you will hear from God in personal and powerful ways over the next 14 days and beyond!
