Hidden Danger

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. –Galatians 6:9 NKJV

The world today constantly tries to redefine wrong into right. Laws, statues, and regulations seem to get rewritten on global, national, and personal levels in ways that seem to defy explanation. In such a fluid culture, it’s easy for believers to get caught up in popular opinion and begin to minimize the vicious nature of sin.But God’s Word does not change. Romans 6:23 (NIV) is clear: “The wages of sin is death” Every time you allow sin to take up residence, whether in your actions, attitudes, or the hidden recesses of your thoughts, you invite the process of death to begin. And the longer you harbor it, the more dangerous it becomes.Later, in Romans 8:13 (NIV), Paul gives us this warning and hope: “For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.” Think about what you’ve invited and welcomed into your life that has the power to completely destroy you. Listen to the counsel of your heavenly Father and rid yourself of it! It’s an effective way to show devotion and dedication to your Savior, and it’s for your own good!

prayer focuses

Lord, help me identify any area of sin that has taken root in my life and release hold of it today.

God, give me the strength and willingness to remove any area of compromise from my life for my good and Your glory.
