Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy. –Habakkuk 3:2 NIV
How we see God is vital. Some see God like a genie on a shelf that you pull down every once in a while when you need something or are in a crisis. Some see God like an indulgent heavenly grandfather who is nice to have around but has no real impact on daily life. When we see God as the Author and Perfecter of our faith, the Alpha and the Omega, things will change. When we look to God and His Word as the lamp unto our feet and the light for our path, we will come to know Him as our heavenly Father and the Good Shepherd that King David describes. The One who teaches, disciplines, loves, corrects, redirects, and blesses us.Habakkuk the prophet warns Judah that the people were going to be disciplined, and it wasn’t going to be a pleasant experience, but that God would show mercy to His faithful followers. God is still looking for faithful followers. What will He be to you?
Dear Lord, I welcome Your authority in my life.
I want You to be my Good Shepherd who leads me and restores me. Lord, help me grow to know You better and see You for who You really are.
