Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. –Ephesians 4:2 NLT
Almost every day you can hear someone say, “I love you.” People say it on phones, in texts, emails, and conversations. The expression has become so common that you have to wonder if it is heartfelt or just the thing to say in today’s world. First Corinthians 13:5-7 (MSG) says, “Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, doesn’t have a swelled head, doesn’t force itself on others, isn’t always ‘me first,’ doesn’t fly off the handle, doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, doesn’t revel when others grovel, takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, puts up with anything, trusts God always looks for the best, never looks back, but keeps going to the end.” If the true meaning of love was practiced, how many people would be saying “I love you” so easily?
Ask the Holy Spirit to think, speak, and love through you.
Pray to grow into a person resembling the Holy Spirit in all you do and say.
