In Step with Jesus

In everything we do, we show that we are true ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind. –2 Corinthians 6:4 NLT

With every step you take toward Christ you can expect certain things to increase.Suffering. You will find your lifestyle changing and becoming different, maybe more difficult, from the culture around you.Persecution. Out of guilt and/or misunderstanding, people will speak ill of you and the differences in your lifestyle.Joy. True happiness comes when seeking others’ happiness, not your own.Peace. Christ is your righteousness. In Him you are at peace with the Creator of the entire universe. Not everyone can claim that.Blessings. The word “blessed” is a term of satisfaction and well-being. The New Testament is saturated with the promise of this word in relation to a life lived with the love of Christ. You cannot have more of the last three with less of the first two. If you seek a life without the first three, you are seeking a life without the last three. This is why Christianity is not for wimps, the weak hearted, or the “easy living” type. It is for those who are willing to follow the Man who gave His whole life, even to death, for others.
