Mary, Mother of Jesus

“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.” –Luke 1:38 NIV

Mary, the mother of Jesus is one of the most recognized people in the Bible. Her story is incredible. She was a woman of courage, strength, and immense faith. She is admired for her bravery and devotion to God. As the mother of Jesus, her greatest honor was also the ultimate suffering. She witnessed Jesus’ death on the cross. She was with Him right up until the end. When the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary, she had no idea what the future would hold. Yet, she trusted God even when her vision was limited. Her journey consisted of blessings and pain, but she surrendered to God’s will for her life. We all trust God when things are going well. Yet, even when we don’t know what is ahead, we need to trust God. Mary’s journey is a great example for us to emulate. A true example of trust in the unknown and obedience to the will of God without hesitation. May Mary’s story remind us that God will lead, guide, and direct us when we surrender to His will. Trusting in His plans and purpose is greater than our fears.

prayer focuses

Surrender to God’s will and trust His plans are to prosper you, not to harm you.

Remember the Lord is your strength and shield, and He will never leave you or forsake you.
