Day 52: Time with God

Oh God, You are my God; early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. –Psalm 63:1 NKJV

Do you long for you Heavenly father? We all have busy lives with work, family, or perhaps a ministry at church. We get so overwhelmed and busy during our day that we forget to set aside quality time together with our Abba, our heavenly “Dad.” This will cause a malady in us. We become barren; we become dry in our soul. Our soul begins to suffer, so we start to ache, to thirst for the presence of God. Church, we must never forget to set aside quality time each day to be with our Dad. He waits and longs at every moment for His children to enter into His presence. In times of a barren, dry soul, draw from the living water (John 4:10) and He will quench your thirst. Psalm 92:1-2 says, “It is good to give thanks to the Lord…to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning and Your faithfulness at night.” Let’s stay focused on the One who gave us life. Make it a priority today to spend quality time with your Dad.

prayer focuses

My Father in heaven, forgive me for the times I have not set time apart to be with You.

Help me to be more mindful of this. Holy Spirit, please grab hold of my mind and my heart and help me stay focused on You.
