The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” –Genesis 2:18 NIV
The tallest tree in the world is the California Redwood. In 2006, a redwood was discovered that broke all records, reaching 379.7 feet tall. One would think a tree like that would have to have incredibly deep roots, but surprisingly they do not. The redwoods actually grow in groves, and their roots go not only down, but out. Each tree has an integral part in holding the other trees up. If a redwood is not in a grove with other trees, a storm can easily uproot it. It cannot survive on its own.We were not created to stand alone either. In the Garden of Eden, God said that it was not good for man to be alone. One would think that the one who created us would know what He’s talking about too. We all need each other to withstand the storms of life. Our roots run deep, trusting in God’s grace and love to see us through anything. However, they also need to spread out to family and friends, trusting that they will encourage and support us. We were not created to be alone; it’s the enemy who wants to isolate us and keep us defeated. Isn’t it awesome how all of creation declares His glory?
Pray that God would reveal to you what errors you have made so you can ask for forgiveness and carry on with the great plans He has for your life.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you set healthy boundaries and margins that will allow you to live a life of influence while paving the way to leave a godly legacy.
