My steps have held to your paths; my feet have not stumbled. I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer…you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes. –Psalm 17:5-7 NIV
A good quarter-of-a-century ago, my daughters enjoyed playing with Weebles. They have a unique weighted bottom that allows them to wobble, yet they don’t stay down. They’re resilient. Weebles spring back to standing position whenever pushed over. The motto they play by is, “Weebles wobble, but they don’t fall down. ”Christians, whether young or old, can learn a lot from these fun-to-play-with characters. When the enemy of our soul tries to bring us down, through faith in God we can be resilient. When worldly issues try to knock us down, through Christ in us we can stand our ground and overcome. When our flesh and mind want to throw in the towel, God’s Holy Spirit can empower us to persevere. At times, we may wobble through some valley lows, but with God’s help, we can make it through. Psalm 94:18 (NIV) says, “When I said, ‘My foot is slipping,’ your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.” Nothing formed against us can succeed when our entire being trusts in God. Our opponent is the one who has fallen; and when Christ returns, the enemy will be cast into the abyss of hell forever more!Stay strong. Remain faithful. Hope onward!
Be thankful and grateful for all that God has and is doing in your life and the hope of living in eternity with Him.
Ask the Holy Spirit to give you strength for this day to stand strong against the enemy and to remain robust in faith.
