May the Lord of peace give you his peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. –2 Thessalonians 3:16 GW
The Greek word for peace in the Bible is “eirene.” It’s a secure, safe, calm state of being. It means to have “oneness” or be in harmony with someone; to be at rest and without strife. Before returning to heaven, Jesus left His peace and instructed us not to let our hearts be troubled or afraid (John 14:27). He warned us that as long as we were in this world, we’d have trials and tribulations, but in Him we could have complete peace knowing He has overcome the world (John 16:33). In the midst of the distresses and frustrations of this world, because you are in Christ, you have the peace of Jesus enabling you to remain confident and calm in every situation. You have the Prince of Peace Himself in you and with you to guide you through every trial. When a storm surfaces or a challenge threatens, pause for peace. Take time to connect with the Prince of Peace. Focus on Jesus, allowing His peace to flood your soul and guard your heart, as He guides you through the trial.
Ask the Prince of Peace to highlight any area of your life where you’ve been allowing your peace to be stolen.
Spend time with the Lord allowing Him to restore peace in places you’ve been experiencing unrest.
