Peace Over Worry

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. –Psalm 56:3 NIV

Our world is hurting and broken. The news reports are constant reminders that we live in a world that is a dark place now. We are being filled with fear about an unknown virus and the hurt caused by the racial divide is heartbreaking. So can we find peace during these times, is it even possible? Yes! “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13 NIV).We must choose to set our minds on God’s Word by trusting Him and praying. He is always with us and in control of all that is happening in this world. We have to intentionally seek peace and not believe that our future looms with despair. John 14:27 (NIV) says. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” This peace God offers is vastly different from how the world operates. We will not figure it out on our own. He is more than able to work on our behalf. When we lay our worries at His feet, leave them there.Remember, true peace is found only in Jesus. We can trust that He knows the beginning from the end.
