Day 315: Rejoice and Be Glad - Part One

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. –Psalm 118:24 NLT

Typically, the way you start your day greatly determines the quality of the rest of it. An optimistic view does wonders for your soul, especially for those around you; but a negative attitude creates further unhappiness. Your approach to daily life either works for you or against you—and it’s a decision God allows you to make for yourself. Here are a few joy-stealers that can quickly rob you of a cheerful heart and a positive outlook:• A complaining spirit hinders God from accomplishing all He wants to do in a believer’s life.• A comparing spirit produces jealousy and covetousness.• A condemning spirit loads much undue guilt and shame upon a believer, which is a work of the enemy.• A cluttered life brings much restlessness to our inner and outer life.• A crushed spirit brings a sense of hopelessness. It can enter our life for various reasons, such as facing a loss, encountering a challenge, or suffering from clinical depression. Regardless of the cause, God seeks to restore the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).How do you switch off these joy-stealers and turn on a positive attitude? You’ll find out in tomorrow’s devotional. In the meantime, seek a joyful, merry heart!

Thank the Father for sending us His only Son, the ultimate Sacrifice.

Seek the Lamb until you find Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to help us keep watch even in the dark places of life while continually abiding in Him and reading His Word.
