Have you ever been asked to do something and felt completely unqualified to do it?
Maybe you’ve been gently nudged to work with children or teenagers and you’re well past that stage of life. Or maybe an opportunity to lead a small group or Bible study has you doubting your theological knowledge.

“Surely, there’s someone better,” you think.

Gideon thought the same thing when God chose him to save his people. Before Gideon, it was Moses questioning God’s selection process. In fact, Moses was bold enough in Exodus 4:13 (NIV) to say, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.”

Throughout the Bible we see ordinary people questioning their ability to get the job done. That’s just how God wants it. Only when you feel incapable will you rely on Him instead of yourself. Have you been called to lead or serve in an area outside of your strengths? Good. Sure, God knows your weaknesses, but He cares more about your heart for Him. Trust Him to equip you to get the job done—for His glory.
