She brought forth her firstborn Son…and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. –Luke 2:7 NKJV
Can you imagine Joseph and Mary’s emotions as they frantically searched for a place Mary could rest and give birth to our Savior? Mary was at the point of no return, the Baby was coming and she had no place to lay her head. They finally reach an inn just to be told, sorry, no room for you here. Jesus, the Son of God, the Creator, the One who made it all was rebuffed and told to go away in the very world, and by the very people He had come to save. Do you make the same mistake of the innkeeper? Do you tell Jesus that you have no time for Him today, ignore the prompting of the Holy Spirit because it’s not convenient? This Christmas, give to God your life, your time, and especially your heart. Listen for that urgent knock, and every time you hear it, move aside and make room for Him to do with your life just as He pleases.
Thank God for the fact that He gives you opportunities to glorify and serve Him every day.
Ask Him to open your eyes to every moment so you may step in and be a blessing to those around you.
