Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you have a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. –Colossians 3:13-14 NIV
A man is expected to be tough, yet his greatest character strength lies in his ability to have a tender heart. He’s a hand of steel in a velvet glove. A woman is expected to be tender, a nurturer, the heart of the family; yet her greatest character strength is her ability to be strong. She is a hard worker, relentless, and never-ceasing. United, a man and woman are the perfect example of the Father.God is tough, tender, loving, compassionate, forgiving, giving, and a tower of strength. He is protection from the storm. He has arms open wide to receive us and hands to guide us. He gives us His Word to encourage us. He is the perfect blend of tough and tender—the two shall become one.Is it any wonder marriages come under attack? When Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, they were one until sin destroyed their unity. Christ came to restore what they’d lost. Through His shed blood we are able to be one with the Father. A marriage is only as good as its core strength—unity. Life rooted in unity with the Father is your greatest strength.
Ask the Father to show you if you’ve allowed any divisions to rob you of unity with Him.
Let nothing hinder your unity. Reflect on who the Father is. Ask Him to reveal what He wants you to work on in your life.
