Day 25: What’s Your Plot?

Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. –Hebrews 12:2 NKJV

In the fifth grade, I fell in love with the book series, The Hardy Boys. Every Friday, after lunch, our teacher would read us a chapter. I loved the way they always left me hanging until the next chapter. If I leave any influence on my grandsons, I pray that it is the love of reading. The power of the written word is amazing, and it opens up a world we may have never known existed. Life is like a good mystery, lots of twists, turns, unexpected plot changes, and surprises. However, in the end, all the questions are answered, the mysteries are solved, and the difference between bad and good is determined. You’re then left with satisfaction in the outcome because you know that truth prevailed. Everything that didn’t seem related comes together to finally make sense. You realize that no detail was too small or insignificant to matter. If life doesn’t make sense today, just wait, another chapter is coming. The author of The Hardy Boys knew his stuff, but the Author of Life REALLY knows His stuff. You’re not a mistake, for you were carefully planned. Without you, the story is flat. You’re the twist no one saw coming; you’re the cliff hanger. You are a bestseller!

prayer focuses

Pray for eyes to see the big picture.

The last chapter of your life hasn’t been written yet. You may not understand now, but one day life will all make sense. Ask God to help you understand all the plot twists happening in your life.
