In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents. –Luke 15:10 NIV
When Jesus was here on earth, He set an example of how we’re to treat people who are different from us or don’t share our faith. The religious Pharisees thought they were above everyone else. They wanted no connection to people who they perceived beneath them. Yet, Jesus came to seek and save the lost. He cherished the people whom the Pharisees considered society misfits. The only difference between a believer and a nonbeliever is the condition of the heart. When we refer to ourselves as Christ-followers, we should be living examples for the world to see. Others should look at us, see a difference, and want what we have. Luke 19:10 (NIV) says, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” We have to be careful how we respond to people who think differently. We should value all people. Jesus did.It is important to make a sincere attempt to show respect regardless of what others believe. Having a Pharisee mentality will surely discourage people from wanting to know the heart of Jesus. Everyone needs Jesus’ love, mercy, and grace. It is up to us to be that light while here on earth.
Dear Lord, thank You for seeking and saving me by Your grace.
Thank You for loving me when I was hard to love.
