Day 4: Sing to Your King

I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praises to my God as long as I live. –Psalm 146:2 NIV

When you wake up in the morning, what is your first thought? What are your first words?Morning time, with its quietness and stillness, is a wonderful time of the day to spend with the Lord. Psalm 92:1-2 (NIV) says, “It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night.”Morning is a time when you can sing your heart out to the Lover of your life and shout out to the Lord with thanksgiving for all the blessings, provisions, protection, goodness, and faithfulness He bestowed upon you before you slept.Let your heart wake up each morning with a new song of gratitude for your King, for His righteousness, sacrifice, and salvation. There is so much to sing and shout about when it comes to our wonderful majestic Savior. Let our praises and words of thankfulness be the last words we speak as we retire at the end of the day. “For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord; I sing for joy at what your hands have done” (Psalm 92:4 NIV). Let us sing!

Oh heavenly Father, let my heart be receptive to You each morning, and let me sing songs of deliverance and joy to You.

Holy Spirit, create in me a grateful heart and give me a new song to sing each morning.
