For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. –1 John 2:16 NLT
Have you ever heard the phrase, “Money is the root of all evil”? The Bible does not say that money is the root of all evil, but talks about “the love of money.” That is two different things. Loving money means you set your desires on money. Your emotions are attached to money. You can have an excessive attachment to material wealth. Your thoughts, desires, and pursuit of money can consume you. Our hearts should be set on things above not on material things here on earth. That does not mean you shouldn’t have money, earn it, or save it. We should realize that everything we have belongs to God, and we should be good stewards. God calls you to give back and bless others when you have the finances. This is called the spirit of generosity. When you submit to Him and obey what He says regarding money, you become free and are blessed by following His instructions. Money isn’t evil when it is used as God intended. Proverbs 10:22 (NLT) says, “The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.” So, be blessed, be generous, and be prosperous as God intended.
Pray that you may always have the spirit of generosity in every area of your life.
Ask God to bless your finances so you can be a blessing to others.
