God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. –1 Peter 4:10 NLT
Coveting others’ spiritual gifts given by God is a dangerous path that leads to bitterness, fear, and comparison. Satan’s leading weapon is comparison; if he can get you to doubt who you are, he can move you from where God intended to a place of destruction and despair (John 10:10).If you are confused about what role your gifts play in your life, ask God to show you His vision and insight. The gifts given to you are not dispersed at random. Each one is important and will give you the ability to help those around you (1 Corinthians 12:7-11). Pray for the strength to love yourself enough to embrace your specific gifts that were handpicked and designed with you in mind (Romans 12:6-8). Ask God to shine a light on any doubt in your heart and redirect your focus back to the path He carved for you (Psalm 139:23-24).Ask Him to move quickly in your heart so you don’t offer another minute of your precious life to Satan. Release yourself, forgive yourself, embrace yourself, and move forward to become all God intended.
Pray God would remove any jealousy or envy you have in your heart toward others.
Ask for God’s vision in your life and for Him to show you how to apply your gifts.
