And he [Jesus] did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith. –Matthew 13:58 NIV
There are two types of unbelief. One is understandable—if a person has never heard of God, how can they believe? We get that and know the remedy is knowledge—to know God. However, as Christians, we know God’s Word, yet sometimes refuse to allow it to govern our lives. Because of pride, fear, or the tendency to forget what God has done in the past, we are unpersuaded to act on what we know is true. When we walk in unbelief, God’s blessings are blocked in our lives. It is an act of our will to believe, to have faith. The Bible says, so then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17 NIV). Read God’s Word daily, meditate on it. Pray about it. Then practice acting on it, regardless of your circumstances—that’s building your faith. God has given you power and authority to have the victory, to believe.
Thank God that He is faithful and worthy of trust!
Pray that He would increase your faith and help you to be a courageous believer of His Word.
