Day 125: How Much?

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. –Matthew 7:7-8 NIV

How much do you really want the thing you are praying about to happen? Are you willing to be vigilant, even when things seem to get worse instead of better? Do you let others persuade you to give up when things look hopeless? Do you second guess yourself, question your faith, or focus on the problem rather than the solution? Scripture tells us to keep asking, seeking, and knocking. How do we do that when we see nothing happening? We begin by recalling the times we’ve stood against our troubles and saw them crumble. We remember the times when things looked absolutely impossible, yet somehow they became possible. We remind ourselves that nothing is impossible with God. We face the fact that yes, we are standing against an attack. Sometimes when you stir the pot, you get burned. When we start treading on the enemy’s territory, taking back what he stole from us, he begins his line of assault. The good news is that God causes good to come from everything bad the enemy throws our way. Keep asking, seeking, and knocking; your door will be opened. The answer is just on the other side of the door.
