But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift. –Ephesians 4:7 ESV
Many times while walking along the beach you may have seen children building sandcastles. Then you watched a wave roll and crash onto the shore—washing away the sandcastles and leaving no memory of what was there. This is a picture of the way God’s grace constantly covers you—washing your sin away. You may feel as though you have gone too far for God to forgive your sin, but God is always willing. He knows your sins before you commit them. Your sin is never greater than God’s grace. All you have to do is ask. Just as the waves wash over the shore over and over, that is how God’s mercy and grace is when you sin. It’s all because Jesus went to the Cross to pay the full price for your sins. God’s judgment fell upon your Savior instead of you. It is not what you deserve, but more what He generously gives—grace. As Hebrews 4:16 (NLT) says, “So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” What a great God we have!
Thank the Lord for His grace and mercy.
It was a free gift, but with a very high price that was paid by Jesus. Jesus cried on the Cross, “It is finished.” Sin no longer is your master because of God’s grace.
