How great you are, Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears. –2 Samuel 7:22 NIV
Within each of us there is a desire to receive praise. It can be anything from a seemingly insignificant compliment to a jaw-dropping exclamation that brings credit and affirmation to something we’ve accomplished. Because God made us in His image, then He too desires our praise! We tend to forget that He not only wants to hear about our struggles and requests—He also wants us to tell Him how great He is. Here is a quick reminder to praise Him and what it brings to us in return. Look at the word “praise” itself. Praise allows us to experience these benefits: P- Presence of God (2 Chronicles 5:13-14)R- Removes barriers (Joshua 6:20)A- Anointing comes (Psalm 23:5)I- Ignites the fire (Acts 2:3)S- Shakes off bondages (Acts 16:25-34)E- Ends the devil’s plans (John 16:33)Activate these attributes of praise; take a praise break today!
But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy (Psalm 5:11 NIV).
Let praise be our antidote to the enemy’s lies.
