Treasure Hunting

I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places…. –Isaiah 45:3 NKJV

You can experience the thrill of a treasure hunter. Hidden gems, nuggets of pure gold, buried treasure personally await you in God’s Word. All you need are the right tools, a little time, and the leading of the Holy Spirit to embark on this exciting adventure. The Bible is called the “living word” because it has powerful truth and wisdom for today, because the Holy Spirit can speak to your heart through it. When a verse grabs your attention, a single word causes you to halt, or your interest piques, take a minute and pause! That's your cue to dig deeper.  Let’s “mine” just a bit in Psalm 91:1 (NKJV) that says, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High….” The Hebrew word for “dwell” means “to sit, settle, inhabit, remain.” With all His love and encouragement, God extends an invitation to you to inhabit the secret place of the Most High and live there permanently. That evokes some questions: Who is the Most High? Where is the secret place? What happens if I make my home there? These questions lead to deeper understanding of God and who you are in Him. So go ahead, keep digging and unearth your own personal treasures in this one amazing verse.
