Day 149: Your Promise Keeper

Soon I will die, going the way of everything on earth. Deep in your hearts you know that every promise of the Lord your God has come true. Not a single one has failed! –Joshua 23:14 NLT

Broken promises by others can leave you believing that perhaps God won’t come through on His promises to you. That’s faulty thinking. Throughout the Bible, God has always kept His promises to His people. God is still a promise keeper. Here are a few promises He has offered to us: We can give all our cares to God, because He cares about us (1 Peter 5:7).God will direct our paths as we trust in Him (Proverbs 3:5-6).We will receive a great harvest at the right time if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9).We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).When we cry out to the Lord, He hears us; He delivers us from our troubles (Psalm 34:17).When we submit ourselves to God and resist the devil, he will flee from us (James 4:7).If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).All of the promises God has made, are “Yes” in Christ, and through Him “Amen” (2 Corinthians 1:20).

prayer focuses

Thank God for all the promises He has made to His people.

Praise Him for the ones He’s met and thank Him for those to come. Take time to memorize some of God’s promises. Pray over them. Profess them out loud. Trust that God will come through for you.
