Unto You a Child is Born

Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her. –Luke 1:38 NLT

All around the world, the birth of Jesus Christ is celebrated in the month of December. It is the season when the entire globe turns from thoughts of politics and wars to a tiny Baby born more than 2,000 years ago. The miraculous story of the Savior’s birth begins with Mary. It happened one night that an angel of the Lord appeared to her and revealed she would have a Son by the power of the Holy Spirit and His name was to be called Jesus. Mary was shaken and confused. Her simple question was, “How will this be?” The angel explained that the Holy Spirit would come upon her and she would become with child; he then reminded her that “nothing is impossible with God.” Humbled at what her God was going to do, Mary’s response was to trust God. This Christmas season, whatever you are facing, that angel’s reminder applies to you too. God’s promises never change. Nothing is impossible with Him. As you look to God’s Word, make your response be the same as young Mary—choose to trust God.

Look at the areas of your life that require faith and ask God to help you surrender them in trust.

Thank God that His faithfulness extends to your life 2,000 years after the greatest promise of hope was first given.
