I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. –Psalm 63:4 NIV
We express our love for God in praise and worship by putting our whole selves into the experience. We are instruments for His use. We are temples of the Holy Spirit. When we praise God with our whole heart and whole body, we enter into a new level of awareness of His presence. The power of praising together draws us closer to others. Together we feel the excitement of the joy being expressed and released, and even our breathing while singing with others enhances the connection we have with God. Psalm 150:6 says, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.” We are made to come alive and gather together with others. Our breath was given to us to praise God and unite with others to express joy. When we live and move and have our being in Christ by the power of Holy Spirit, we grow closer to Him. When we use our bodies in this way, we truly are instruments for harmony in the world!
Make me a channel of Your peace and joy, Lord.
Lead me to know and do Your will, so that I may be made useful to You and others. Let me praise You, Lord. Lift me up all the way. I am open to Your way and will for my day.
