Day 105: Play Ball

For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory. –Deuteronomy 20:4 NIV

Recently my daughter and her family went on vacation to Chicago. They love the Cubs, the Bears, the Blackhawks, and all things Chicago. Their dog is even named Wrigley. They went to four baseball games, took a tour of Wrigley Field, and actually saw Coach Madden and other players out in public. One of my grandsons is named after Ryne Sandberg, and my grandson Ryne met his namesake personally. He was so kind to Ryne, he even gave him a signed ball and two signed hats. They also took a tour of Soldier Field, were allowed into the locker room, and even threw some passes on the field. They had a blast exploring Chicago! Life is often like a baseball game. Sometimes you’re flying high, catching all the pitches, running the bases, and batting home runs. Other times, you strike out, foul out, and miss the easy bunts. However, the best part is that when you slide into home plate, and you’re entrusting your life to the Great Umpire, you’ll hear Him say, SAFE! When we’re in a slump, and our batting averages aren’t so great, the Father never cuts us from His team. Now, go play ball for Him!
