Day 132: Who Shall See God?

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. –Matthew 5:8 NIV

The psalmist David wrote these words found in Psalm 51:10 (NIV), “Create in me a pure heart, O God.” David also wrote in Psalm 24:3-4 (NIV), “Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart. ”So, do we want to see God? All we need to do is, as David did, ask God to create in us a pure heart—a heart of compassion, mercy, grace, and forgiveness. What is in your heart that is unpurifying your soul? Let’s all examine our hearts on this very day. Let’s ask Jesus to mold us into His holy character. We all struggle with one weakness or another, but our Lord and Savior has paid the price for our every weakness and struggle. He has blessed us with the presence of the Holy Spirit to guide us and help us through life. The Holy Spirit will strengthen us and get us through each day of struggle we have. Let us all shout with a loud voice, “Create in me a pure heart, O God, for blessed are the pure in heart!”

prayer focuses

Lord, sanctify me and purify me in all of my ways so I can have a pure heart before You.

Holy Spirit, saturate me and surround me with Your presence, O Lord, and heal this malevolent heart.
