Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! –2 Corinthians 9:15 NLT
How the Grinch Stole Christmas has been a popular Christmas story for more than sixty years. Year after year it is televised during the holidays. The message is loud and clear if our hearts are open to it. The Grinch in his own words says, “What if Christmas doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.” We should never lose heart regarding the true meaning of Christmas. Celebrating with decorations, buying gifts, and dinners with family and friends are all part of the wonderful Christmas season. However, the ultimate gift is Jesus’ love and generosity, and this message should fill us with the real spirit of Christmas. No matter what our current circumstances may be, know that Jesus came to heal. It can be a time of renewed strength. His birth is Hope. He left Heaven to bring a gift that we cannot buy—the gift of Himself to take our place on the Cross. If you view the movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas this year, remember the Grinch’s words, “What if Christmas, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.” Then it will be a true Merry Christmas.
The true Christmas message is that Jesus came to earth to give us life by giving up His own life.
Take time to celebrate the birth of the Christ child and not be caught up in busyness of the season.
