Day 189: Work Isn’t a Job

Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. –Ephesians 1:4 NLT

We often confuse our job with our work. Our job is what we do 9 to 5, what we get paid to do. Our work, on the other hand, is what we were born to do. We can be fired, laid off, or downsized from our jobs, but our work can never be taken from us.Many people believe that they were a mistake. They were not a mistake, they were ordained. They might not have been in their parents plans, but they were in God’s. They were planned before the foundation of the world was laid. They are here for a reason; there is a purpose and a plan for their lives. They have been given a gift only they can give, given shoes only they can fill, and placed in the position they belong in.This world needs what we can give; someone desperately needs our touch on their lives. We have great wealth to share, it dwells deep within our souls. Let your work overshadow everything you do. Your work pays a much greater salary than your job ever can.

prayer focuses

In all you do, acknowledge God.

Make your work priority over your job. Rejoice over His love that created you with such joy.
