You Are Powerful

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. –Luke 10:19 NIV

Whether it happened in childhood, adolescence, or adulthood, adversity has touched all of us to some degree. Maybe for you it was abuse, abandonment, betrayal, or the death of someone significant. The good news is that, like life itself, adversity is temporary. The even better news? God can turn adversity into an asset and transform you into a Satan slayer in the process.Life is, by turns, breathtakingly beautiful and heartbreakingly painful. Chances are, you’ve already lived through trials, setbacks, and disasters you thought you’d never survive. You’re far more powerful than Satan and all of his minions put together, but he is betting on the fact that either you don’t know that or simply don’t believe it.If you’re planning to outrun all of the pain life will inevitably hurl at you, you’d better start training for a marathon. God allows you to experience the painful stuff to remind you that you’re bullet-proof, you’re fire-proof, and you’re demon-proof. All the power you need is right there inside you, thanks to your heavenly Father.

prayer focuses

Lord, thank You for Your authority to overcome every snare and trick of the devil.

Father, when I’m at my most vulnerable, fill me to overflowing with Your power, strength, and courage.
