And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. –Ezekiel 36:26 NLT
Do you have heart disease? Are your spiritual arteries clogged with hatred, bitterness, and/or unforgiveness? Are you rejoicing in another’s misfortunes? If your answer to any of these questions is yes, it is time for a heart transplant. Many suffer from heart disease without realizing it. As a child of God, you should strive to live in peace with all people. Our hearts should be moved with compassion for others when they are faced with difficulties. The Lord has entrusted His children with the responsibility of being the salt of the earth. We are called to be lights in a dark and dying world, offering hope to the hopeless. When they see believers laughing and making fun of their misfortunes, it turns them away from Christ.Everyone has a story, past or present, that speaks of a personal struggle. It is by God’s grace and His forgiveness that we are not lost. It should be a priority for believers to keep pure hearts before the Lord and a clean conscience before others. Always strive to be the better person.
Pray that the Lord helps you to keep a pure heart toward Him.
Pray that you can see people through His eyes of compassion.
