I eagerly hope and expect that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. –Philippians 1:20 NIV
There will always be those who strive to humiliate and diminish your faith in Jesus. Have you ever walked away from a conversation or a circumstance hanging your head in shame because you failed to stand for faith? If we are not comfortable sharing our faith, other people may miss out on the blessings that come from knowing the truth. Your experiences, struggles, and the crushing of God’s winepress can be opportunities to pass on the absolute truth of God to someone else. Your personal experience is the one thing that cannot be argued. Think through what you believe; practice expressing your beliefs. Choose some of your favorite promises in God’s Word and practice explaining them, sharing them clearly in your own words. Look in the mirror and tell that person in your own words what the Lord has done in your life and why you believe the Bible. The next time you see that person, you will feel confident to share God’s Word with them. Always stir your mind thoroughly to think through what you believe. Take a truth with which you have quietly struggled, give it expression, and speak its victory clearly and boldly.
Thank God for the ways He has worked in your life and for the truths you have learned about His character.
Ask God to prepare you to share your story and to have courage when sharing it.
