In the Gentle Whisper

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. –Romans 8:28 ESV

You may pray for miracles and wonder if God hears you. But never doubt that your request goes unheard. He will meet your needs. However, it may be met in very different ways from how you expect. Life can be cruel at times with many unanswered questions here on earth. In 1 Kings 19 is the story of how Elijah ran away in the face of danger. After running for a while, Elijah finally says, “Enough of this, God!” Sometimes you may feel the same way too. Elijah was looking for God to speak to him. In his flight from his enemies and God, Elijah’s journey led him to a mountain, and there God sent a hurricane wind that shattered rocks and tore at the mountains. Then an earthquake and then a fire occurred, but God was not found in any of them. After all this, Elijah thought God was not going to speak to Him. However, a gentle and quiet whisper finally came. He finally felt God’s presence. God is always nearby, caring and loving you during the waiting. Listen for His whisper. You can’t lose hope. God can move mountains. God promises, He will turn all things for good. As you wait, the Holy Spirit is right alongside you giving you strength.

Remember the words of the song, “Great is His Faithfulness,” as you wait to hear His voice.

Praise God that He always hears our prayers even though His ways may be different from ours.
