A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart... –Luke 6:45 NLT
There are some people who try desperately to convince you that they are someone they’re not. Butter may melt in their mouth, but they can’t hide who they are. If you wait long enough, their true nature emerges. No one has to teach a lamb to be gentle or trusting, it’s in their nature. No one has to teach a wolf that sinks its teeth into a lamb’s neck to be a killer. That too is in its nature. What’s inside will come out.Luke 6:45 tells us that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. We can sugarcoat our words and our actions, but what we’ve have sown into our hearts will prevail. The only person we ever fool is ourselves. We can pretend all we want, but we can’t fool God. Here’s the good news, there’s hope. Why hide who we really are? Why not change who we really are? A new heart equals a new nature, and God freely gives us that new heart when we surrender to Him. A new heart produces a new nature that reflects God’s nature. Our actions then speak louder than words.
Focus your prayers on shining as an ambassador of God’s nature, who is being perfected daily.
Having trouble with an attitude? Feeling bitter? Perhaps you need a heart transplant. Pray to the Father for a new heart.
