On God’s Authority

Those who know Your name [who have experienced Your precious mercy] will put their confident trust in You, for You, O Lord, have not abandoned those who seek You. –Psalm 9:10 AMP

Live long enough and you will experience the sting of somebody walking away. But with God, you never have to worry about Him turning His back. He loves you and is waiting for you to draw closer so He can draw closer to you. The closer you are to God, the stronger you become. You can find this theme throughout Scripture.Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV).I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them (Isaiah 42:16 NIV).If you feel tired, defeated, hopeless, hurt, disappointed, or angry, do the opposite of what feels right. Instead of fighting more, draw closer to God and fight less. He wants to lift those feelings and restore you to the strong, victorious person you are.

Bayside Community Church

At the beginning of each year, as a church, we set aside time for prayer and fasting. We believe God deserves our full attention and our best. So, before we fill our calendars for the year, we want to listen.  We say with Samuel, “Speak Lord, for your servant is listening”. (1 Sam 3:9)

These daily readings are collection of thoughts and scripture to use as prompts to invite you to dig deeper - to listen and lean in. Use the scriptures as a springboard to explore further. Consider praying through the scriptures given and let the Word of God speak.

We are praying that you will hear from God in personal and powerful ways over the next 14 days and beyond!
